Plum Chutney

Make-ahead this rich plum chutney for special occasions or simply enjoy al fresco with your favorite cold cuts.

  1. Wash plums thoroughly few times. Boil them with salt and drain water properly.
  2. Heat some water and jaggery in a pan. When jaggery melts down, add boiled plums and keep stirring.
  3. Now add chili powder and five spices mix “Panch Foron” powder. Mix everything well and keep stirring. Turn the flame off when the mixture gets sticky.
  4. When it cools down it loses stickiness to dry. Store it in a glass jar for about six months without sunlight.
